Shine a Light 2021

Last year saw the whole community of Moville come together in a simple act of community, love & remembrance on New Years Eve. Shine a Light saw hundreds of people placing a light in their windows at 8pm to remember those that we had lost, both as families and as a wider community.

The event was so successful that communities across Inishowen, Donegal and Ireland joined with us and #ShineALight became shared event that went well beyond the Moville Parish.

In 2021 we are going to Shine a Light again. As many people remain separated by Covid restrictions, we will come together once more at 8pm on New Year’s Eve to share and remember as a community. The Mica campaign shows the strength and support that we give each other when we work together, and we dedicate this year to them, as well as to our own personal reasons for shining our lights.

Once again, we are asking people right across Moville, Greencastle, Shroove, Carrowmenagh, Lecamy and the whole Parish to light a candle or place a light in your window at 8pm on New Years Eve, 31st December – to stand together as a community in remembering, and in a spirit of hope and optimism for the new year to come. Whatever 2022 brings, we will face it together as a community.
