From our outgoing chairman - John canning
“As chairman it’s been a privilege” he went on to “thank everyone for all their support” stating he can’t remember a time the room was so full of people looking to get involved.
He went into detail of how the club was struggling due to lack of help, and opened the floor up to questions from the public. Each member took their turn to speak and create a positive forum to suggest positive improvements with in the club and to gap the bridge of communication.
John went on to say “gates shouldn’t be closing and with the turnout tonight our future looks bright”
The outgoing committee expressed their interest in formalising a fundraising committee, to help with bringing back vital fundraisers such as the much missed sports day. They also expressed how they wanted to create a clear pathway for all our youths right through to senior level, and each age group would be their to inspire the next.
The committee also addressed the issue of a severe recruitment needed for all age groups for coaching and coaching assistants.
Both reserves and first team managers are currently vacant, Along with numerous youth teams.
On exiting the chair - John closed with
“It’s goodnight from me…… but it’s not goodbye”
Although he has left the role of the chairman, he still wishes to be involved within the club and help with fundraising through the lotto.
